Phuentsholing

Phuentsholing is the entry to Bhutan, and it is a booming center on the Indian Plain's northern boundary of West Bengal. Phuentsholing, located in the Himalayan foothills, is a wonderful combination of Indian and Bhutanese, a perfect illustration of people and culture mixing. Phuentsholing, as a frontier town, provides a handy entry/exit point for Bhutanese and foreign visitors.

Thimphu

Thimphu also spelled as Thimbu, situated in the Central Bhutan is the capital city of the Himalayan Kingdom Bhutan. Since 1951, the scenic city of Thimphu has been the capital of Bhutan. Surrounded by lofty mountains and shimmering stream of Thimphu Chu, Thimphu has become one of the must visit tourist places in Bhutan. Thimphu with its scenic beauty and traffic free roads has attracted travelers from far and wide.

Punakha

Punakha, about 15.5 miles (25 kilometres) east of Thimphu, is where visitors get their first real flavour of rural Bhutan. Its dzong (fortress) is one of the country’s most famous monasteries, built in 1638 and located at the confluence of two rivers. It is a truly authentic showcase of Bhutanese artistry, with an especially magnificent assembly hall filled with beautiful clay figures and detailed murals.

  • Then we proceed to Thimphu- the capital of Bhutan. Upon arrival visit BBS Clock Tower, and Tashichho Dzong.Later visit Royal Takin Preserve – a wildlife reserve area for ‘Takin’ the national animal of Bhutan, Buddha Dordenma Statue, and the Standing Buddha Park. Further visit National Library and Handicraft Center

  • Places to see include Memorial Chorten - dedicated to the Third King and founder of modern Bhutan ; Kharbandi Gompa ; Photo stop at Taktichu Pass

  • After breakfast, proceed to Punakha . Enroute stopover at Dochu La – A mountain pass leading further into the Punakha Valley. It offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass and visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lakhang on the way.

    After breakfast, proceed for a visit to the beautiful Phobjika Valley and Goempa Monastery. The Phobjika valley is home to the migration of the Blacked Crane in the months of Winter where the migrant birds a found in large number across the valley floor.Later visit the famous Punakha Dzong – the second oldest and second largest Dzong in Bhutan We will finish by seeing one of the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan, spanning 350 m and perched high above the very swift river of Po Chhu. Draped with prayer flags the bridge connects the town of Punakha and the Punakha Dzong.Overnight stay in Punakha.

  • proceed to Paro. En route visit Tamcho iron bridge near pa chu. Upon arrival at Paro, we visit, Paro Dzong- a large dzong - Buddhist monastery and fortress. Further we visit Ta-Dzong also known as National Museum. In the evening free time at local market

  • Today we visit Taktshang Monastery- famously known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Clinging on a cliff at a height of 3120 meters above the sea level, this ancient monastery is a gem of Paro Valley. A trek of total 12km from Paro town. After returning from Tiger’s Nest, we proceed to the view point of Drukgyel Dzong – a Victory Fortress. In the evening we enjoy the Bhutanese cultural program.

  • Proceed to Phuntsholing. Here visit Kharbandi Gompa – built by the Royal Grandmother as her winter residence

  • After breakfast ,Check out & Drop at Baghdogra airport Board Indigo flight @ 4.25 am , Arrival Coimbatore – 11.15 pm
